Subject: Set Maximum Packet Size Larger
Date: September 21, 1990

PROBLEM: A customer was running NetWare 386 v3.1 on a Compaq 386
SystemPro. The SystemPro had one of Compaq's 32 bit Token-
Ring cards in it.
The problem they had was that none of their AT machines
could copy a binary file to the file server. They would get
a "Network error". All of their XTs or microchannel
machines worked fine. All of their workstations are running
at 16 Megabits. The above problem only occurred with binary
files.
SOLUTION: The solution to the problem was to set the "Maximum Receive
Physical Packet Size = 4202" in the STARTUP.NCF file.
